Art by Chris Kotthoff ( Steel-Raven ) . This is an original picture of a 70-ton Nova Cat Mech done by Chris Kotthoff. Chris has done a few pieces for our site, and always goes above and beyond what we anticipate with any project he takes on. Chris is a major contributor when it comes to Mecha discussions here on DA. The Nova Cat Mech has a special place on Strider's Strikers, as it is the totem Mech of the mercenaries' closest allies, Clan Nova Cat. The Mechs are piloted by Cecil and Savalas, two Mechwarriors charged with major responsibilities in the Nova Cat's integration experiment with the Strikers group. This particular Nova Cat is piloted by Cecil and is taking part in a battle against a rival mercenary group working for the Blakists.

Hey thanks for the critique man. Yeah the background is intense so it would look good colored, but I don't think Anthony has the time to start coloring stuff for me since he barely has the time to do the regular Mech pieces. I'm really happy with Chris's stuff because he goes so far beyond what he has to and gives the proportions very fair treatment. If I get rich all get some stuff colored but in the meantime its black and white for awhile (unless I win the lottery cause I'm the only one paying for everything).
How is 3063 coming? I checked the site a couple times in the past 2 months, but didn't see much here on DA recently on your account. I've been crapola myself on the updates recently here, but luckily the site is a bit different.

This is good work, but pass it over to Anthony Scroggins for some color treatment. As it stands, it is way too busy and the background distracts. There is not enough contrast between the elements of the picture...

But color the 'Mech a lighter shade (appropriate to the faction it serves), render the buildings in the background a darker shade of grey, and let the missiles and weapon fire dominate with brighter colors and you have a standout piece.
