Art by Siya Oum ( kamillyonsiya ) . This is a full-color shot of Sasha Breen, a Steel Viper Star Captain, as done by professional colorist Siya Oum. Siya created the original team banner which was used for years for our website's welcome page. Because of the need for faster results and her already busy schedule, additional banners and a redesign have been done by the equally skilled Leonardo M. Giron. As with all our characters, the original character face was based on a source pic by Nikola Temkov's. While she worked on our site, Siya was one of our more high-profile artists, working on NBC's Heroes comic and for DC Comics. Please see Siya's own website here:
[link]Steel Viper Star Captain Sasha Breen is a highly valued member of the Strider's Strikers team. Commanding a contingent of Steel Viper Mechwarriors which makes up much of the Clan half of the mercenary unit, she is best known for her hardline Clanner stance on most everything. With the 3068 deaths of both the team's original commanders, Sasha has become the new Clan Commander of the unit. Her powerful allies on the team have helped her become the most influential member on the entire team, surpassing her Inner Sphere counterpart Duo Maxwell.

Now to more serious stuff... I actually like the entire concept for your site, and how you join characters and stries to make something cool, as it seems that CGL and other owners of the franchise dont care in doing anything new and interesting.
Me and my brother actually had the dieia of something similar to your site, based on family saga in the BT Universe, specially the two brothers that turn legendary during the FedCom civil war
But time is not abundant. Maybe one day I will be able to tell their story
Thanks again for the kind words about the site/storyline. The story really came together very gradually, with a lot of planning and smaller stories working together. Some folks are sad that half the team has been killed by the Word of Blake, but hey if your mortal enemies happen to be the Blakists, you are bound to get a nasty surprise during the Blakist Jihad!
I'd love to hear more of you and your brother's story. Who knows, maybe the Strikers could cross paths with your characters in a cross-over? The Strikers fought two different FedCom Civil War contracts, both for the Davion side. Whose side were your guys on?
Catalyst is doing a similar thing now with their mercenaries "The Battle Corps". They are very similar to our Strikers unit but they don't have so many Clan members that I know of (definitely some though!). They seem to be one of the cooler new mercs in the BT universe and are led by a female commander.
The take on the intro page is simply awesome!
Ah, yeah, the Blakists. Our story actually was made with characters based on our friends and childhood heroes. But we killed a lot of those characters very generously during the active years of John Cassini, the younger brother, between 3063-3078. Even the older brother, Francis Cassini, meets a sad doom, and thats before the Jihad even starts. Of course, our friends were a little upset with some decisions, but we based ourselves on the rule of drama
They served the Davion side, of course, altough the details still need to be taken care of. We know that they fought in Tarkhad, though.
I've actually posted a short story that I see as the epilogue of this entire saga [link]
Even the latest generation of Cassinis is made of warriors, and that will never change
I'm also working, sporadicaly, in a short novel about the presence of John Cassini and his mercenary group in Outreach during the WoB invasion
Crossing paths could be awesome. Altough I dont have much time to write for now. Would be an interesting ideia, indeed. Thank you for those kind words. You guys are doing a great work, and I would never imagine to be able to do such an awesome extensive project
So the Cassini's were on the "good guys" side? Our guys too. I loved the Gray Death Legion and was so sad to see them go. They got the short end of the stick so many times by being loyal to the Steiners. I'm sorry to hear the older Cassini brother suffered a somewhat similar fate.
Wow working on a novel is fantastic! I don't have anything like that in the works, but I do some short stories now and then since I like describing some parts of our team's history in detail. Thanks so much for your compliments on the site. I wish you could have seen it when it was all up, but at least it will all be up again in a new format pretty soon. The folks re-doing are supposed to be uploading the initial version of the Wordpress version in the next several days so that they can incorporate some of the artwork in.
Just let me know if you want to try some kind of crossover. We could probably pull something off via Megamek if you can be the host. My router always prevents me from being one unfortunately...Mike
Oh, we killed the characters really generously. Even the older brother, a great battlefield genious (a little like your oun) dies because he becomes too confident. He still manages to save an entire planet in their first campaign, so his life was short but worthwhile.
Oh, yeah. But that fan-novel is going on very slowly. Dont have the time I used too. I actually started to write the first campaign of those brothers, but then I noticed it would be too big, and would never have time to finish it. Maybe I'll try, when I finish the current one.
Ah, really eager to see how your new site will look like once its finished
Looks amazing!! Great work
